Lucan Sarsfields Club Notes Monday 29th February 2016

February 28, 2016

Senior Football Division One got underway with Lucan taking the points away to Cuala (1-13 to 0-10, no tweets from Des Cahill on that result!). Next up is a home game against Ballymun on 13/3,  at 10:30am. Intermediates came home from Lusk empty handed, but the Minor footballers matched the seniors in taking points from Cuala, however the minor hurlers A & B failed to follow suit.

Senior hurlers got a positive start in the Leinster Adult Club Hurling League 2016 with a win over Ferns St Aidans on Saturday last. Subsequent rounds are fixed for the 5th and 19th of March. Dublin Division One kicks off on the 6/3 with Lucan away to Ballinteer at 10:30am.

Juvenile Hurling got off the ground in earnest this weekend with wins for U14 Div 1 and Div 5 and also for the U15 Div 1 team.

St Joseph's College 'Joeys' will play Scoil na Trionoide Naofa, Doon, County Limerick in the Senior B Schools All Ireland Final in Nenagh, County Tipperary at 1.30pm on Saturday 5th March 2016. The girls from 'Joeys' would appreciate all support in Nenagh on 5/3/2016 in their quest to win this trophy. So make this 'Trip to Tipp' if you can!

Easter pool competition first round kicks off 9pm on the 3rd March with subsequent rounds happening on 10/3 and 16/3 culminating in the final on 24/3.

Saturday 12th of March, Rory’s Stories - Live Show. Tickets available at the bar, but are limited. Also, St Patricks Day is not far away and (as you may have seen from the posters) a big day is in store at the club.

Golf Society fixtures available on website see menu Social-Golf Society.

The ever popular Cúpla Focal Club continues on Monday night. Eight O’Clock for the newly elected (looking for a few words for the Dáil speech) and Nine O’Clock for those already with a cúpla focal (maybe looking for the Gaeltacht portfolio).

No bingo on Wednesday 2nd March, instead we have a table quiz run by Hillcrest Residents. Set dancing continues in the function room on Wednesday at 8:30pm, and the 25-Card Drive continues on Friday Night at 9pm, new participants are always welcome.

There was no winner of this week’s €1,500 Lotto draw, numbers were 17, 19, 20 and 24. Lotto sponsor was Careys Newsagents. Next week’s jackpot is €2,000, and the draw will be managed by team Shay Hurson Sunday night.
