St. Joseph's, Lucan in All Ireland Senior Colleges semi-final
(11 Feb 2016)Best wishes to St. Josephs on Saturday.
St Josephs College, Lucan are hoping to add to their All-Ireland junior crown won in 2014 when they take on Banagher College (Offaly) this Saturday 13th February at 2pm in St David's, Artane in the All Ireland senior colleges semi-final.
Joeys qualified for this one on foot of their thrilling victory last month over Our Ladyâs Terenure in the Dublin senior colleges final.
Joeys are hoping that late fitness tests will prove positive and enable Aoife O'Kane, Kate Britton, Aoife McKearney and Sam Fitzgerald to play some part in the proceedings.
The Lucan school are backboned by Lucan Sarsfields senior squad members, in particular powerful mid-field duo Laura O'Mahony and Orlaith Murphy.
Jess Condron, Laura Morgan and Maeve Dowler are in great form in defence and will provide excellent cover for brilliant keeper Nicole Fitzgibbon who was outstanding in the Dublin final.
Avril Quinn, Emma OâFlynn and Julie Kelly were rock solid in the full-back line that day, especially in the last frantic exchanges.
All eyes on Saturday will be on rising star Orla Sadlier hoping for a repeat of her display against Our Lady's.
She will be hoping to have the assistance of stalwarts Fitzgerald and McKearney in what would be a strong half-forward line.
Up front Joeyâs will have the striking ability of the likes of Emma Ryan, Katie Feeney, Laura Quinn, Jessie McClelland, Yazmin Kilduff, Abby Lawlor and Emily McIntyre to call upon.
Close one to call.
