Lucan Sarsfields Club Notes Monday 1st February 2016

Last Saturday Night was the Annual Club Awards Night. A really well attended night wit Mary Flannery getting Club Person of The Year. Sean McCaffrey was added to the Hall of Fame, Senior Camogie Management got the Adult Management team honours, with last years U13 Ladies Football management team getting the Juvenile Award. On the senior side, The Ladies Football award went to Aisling Clarke, Camogie to Joelenne Hoary, Senior Hurling to Barry Aird, and Senior Football to Ciaran McHugh. The full list of award recipients are available on the website.

Senior Football competitive action kicks off Sunday next away to Thomas Davis in the St Vincent De Paul Cup (maybe the 14th Feb should be limited to the Loving Cup?). The league draw is published and has thrown up some tasty home fixtures against Ballymun, Na Fianna, St. Judes, and St. Vincents just to start with!

U21 Hurling Championship Final (a hangover from 2015) is scheduled for Saturday next in O’Tool Park.

On the juvenile side it’s becoming a hive of activity and almost impossible to track so many teams across all codes. The U16 and U15 footballers have had a 100% start to their seasons with weekend wins over Whitehall and Sylvesters. Pitch closures across AGP and Willsbrook continue to cause problems for all teams, but hopefully the weather will settle down and pitches become playable in the next few weeks relieving the pressure. Training slots on the All Weather Pitch continue to be in heavy demand, so if you are not using your teams slot, please let the Juvenile Secretary know.

Operation Transformation continues for another few weeks, its runs from the club every Tuesday and Thursday evening at 7:30pm, in association with SDCC Sports Partnership. Never too late to join in, simply turn up before the first walk Tuesday/Thursday at 7.30pm.

Heads up….Saturday 12th of March, Rory’s Stories - Live Show. Tickets available at the bar.

Cúpla Focal Club is every on Monday night, with Seán O’Lanagáin. Eight O’Clock do na daoine ag tosnú, and nine O’Clock dos na saineolaí.

Bingo is on this Wednesday at 8:30pm. Wednesday of next week (17/2) is dedicated to a table quiz in aid of St. Raphaels Celbridge, it kicks off at 8:30pm and tables of 4 are €40.

Set dancing continues in the function room on Wednesday at 8:30pm, and the 25-Card Drive continues on Friday Night at 9pm, new participants are always welcome.

There was no winner of this week’s €3,000 Lotto draw, numbers were 5, 15, 25 and 28. Lotto sponsor was Coláiste Laichtín, Inis Oírr. Next week’s jackpot is €3,500, and the draw will be managed by team Josephine Donohue  on Sunday night.
