Lucan Sarsfields Club Notes 1st February 2016
January 31, 2016
Senior Footballers preparations stuttered a little this week with a planned challenge game in Navan falling foul of the weather. Nonetheless, preparations continue with Eoin Dunne running very organised and disciplined training sessions, and a further challenge game planned for Sunday next in Moorfield, Kildare before their first cup game in a fortnight. Junior footballers are still looking for management, coaches etc. Any interest? eMail lucansarsfieldspro@gmail.com
The Senior Hurlers have a few more weeks before competitive action, but they too have been preparing. More on that to come.
Administrative changes continue with Greg OâNeill taking over from Gerry McAndrew as Chairman of the Adult Games Committee.
Under 16 Footballers got the 2016 competitive season underway this weekend with a home league win over Palmerston. Juvenile Football gets into full swing from next week with almost all age groups in league action or grading games. Not unusually for this time of year, pitches at AGP and Willsbrook Park were closed for the weekend making it difficult for teams to get challenge games played.
Juvenile Mentors have so many rules, laws, codes and policies to content with, we have tried to help by creating a âMentors Downloadsâ section on the web site. Hopefully this will ease the burden as it also provides access to the various forms required for equipment, insurance claims etc. All feedback welcome.
Operation Transformation continues at the club every Tuesday and Thursday evening at 7:30pm, in association with SDCC Sports Partnership. Never too late to join in, simply turn up before the first walk Tuesday/Thursday at 7.30pm.
Cúpla Focal Club is every on Monday night, with Seán OâLanagáin. Eight OâClock do na daoine ag tosnú, and nine OâClock dos na saineolaÃ.
Bingo is on itâs week off, but it is proving a very popular event are we really would like some more volunteers to allow this event move from its current fortnightly slot to a weekly one.
Set dancing continues Wednesday at 8:30pm, and the 25-Card Drive continues on Friday Night at 9pm, new participants are always welcome.
The big date for this week is Saturday 6th February, which is the Clubs Annual Awards Night.
There was no winner of this weekâs â¬2,500 Lotto draw, numbers were 4, 5, 14 and 22. Lotto sponsor was John Ryan, Accountant, Esker Lawns.. Next weekâs jackpot is â¬3,000, and the draw will be managed by team Edel Mooney on Sunday night.
