Lucan Sarsfields Club Notes Monday 18th January 2016
No more âLeopardstown Leaps" advertising, its all done. Over 200 people came along, kicking off with a Champagne reception in the club, bus transfer to Leopardstown, briefing from our tipster (who was probably > 50% on the money), food was good and generally a fantastic day out. On the race front, âAspen Coleradoâ in the last race along with âSeabassâ in he fifth general seemed to save most pockets. Buses returned to the club for about 6pm, where many many extended the day well beyond what may have been its natural end! Best dressed Lady went to Ann Marie Lavin while there were some 21 raffle prizes with Eileen Quirke being first out of the cup (in this case Sam Maguire) to have her pick of the prizes.
Operation Transformation continues at the club every Tuesday and Thursday evening at 7:30pm, in association with SDCC Sports Partnership. Its never too late to join in, simply turn up before the first walk this Tuesday at 7.30pm. See a committee member to register.
Eamonn King takes over as Juvenile Chairman, our thanks to Mark Smith who has done the job for a number of years. Many have the impression that all is quiet on the juvenile games front. Nothing could be further from the truth. While many are just back training, mentors have been busy organising challenge games. This weekend alone we had, five home games on the All Weather Pitch covering U12/13/14 and Minor, football and hurling. Three games area already pencilled in for next weekend with U14 football and U12 Hurling facing Celbridge and Peregrines.
Cúpla Focal Club resumes on Monday night the 25th, with Seán OâLanagáin. Ocht a clog for the novices agus Naoi a clog do na daoine ag iarraidh feabhasu a chuid blas.
Bingo will be back next week while, Set dancing continues Wednesday at 8:30pm, and 25-Card Drive continues on Friday Night at 9pm, its open to all and new participants are always welcome.
Date for the diary - Saturday 6th February will be the Clubs Annual Awards Night.
