LUCAN SARSFIELDSâ CLUB NOTES MONDAY DEC 7th 2015
On Saturday last Storm Desmond with all his wind failed to stop the U21 Hurling Championship semi-final game from proceeding at the 12th Lock. The wind did make it a game of two halves with Lucan 1:12 to 0:04 up against Faughs at half time. Lucan just about held on playing into the wind eventually winning out 1:14 to 2:10. It will probably be into the new year before the final, as Craobh Ciaran and Finbars are yet to play their quarter final.
Minor Camogie lost out in the Championship Final against St Judes, and Storm Desmond did cause the U15 Camogie game to be called off at the weekend in the Phoenix Park.
On Friday & Saturday last, Lucan U16 footballers played host to visiting Wanderers AFL side from Australia. The 34 visiting players really did show their athletic prowess in three football matches played on a very windy all-weather pitch.
2015 Dublin Bus/Herald Dubs Stars Hurling Selection was announced last week and Lucan are well represented with Chris Crummey, Johnny McCaffrey, Eoghan OâConghaile and Kevin O'Reilly all making the grade. We look forward to seeing how many of our footballers made the grade this week.
All SDCC pitches will be closed from 13th Dec and re-open 16th January 2016. Testament to the work done on our own pitches they are still in great condition.
