U11 (2004) Hurlers

This Indian Summer that we are experiencing must be having an effect on the U11 Hurlers as Saturday’s display was top drawer in both games.

At home Sars took on near neighbours Round Towers in a single game.  â€œThe single pitch felt like U12” was a shout heard at the match and the hurling played would not have looked out of place had our U12 panel being playing.  Level at half time, Sars started to take control of the second half with some superb passing and point scoring.  One point summed up the effort as the ball was pucked out by the Goalkeeper caught around centre field and promptly dispatched over the bar will little fuss.  However the point caused a lot of fuss on the sidelines as parents and mentors alike rose in acclaim!!

Sars took three teams out to Na Fianna, playing in St. Vincent’s School.  The school bell rung to call the masses but Sars were first in class with this display across three games. Getting stuck in straight from the “off”, the lads picked off some super goals and points made all the better by the number of passes involved in each move.  The ball was certainly doing all the work as the Sars short passing game and fierce determination in the tackle were the hall marks of a fine hurling performance.  The effort from all players was there to see as not a drop of water was left in the water bottles!!
