Lucan Sarsfields U11 Camogie vs Faughs Celtic â Sunday 4/10/2015 at The 12th Lock
Let the Indian summer continue and we shall be provided with some wonderful displays of talent. Great progress this season as this Lucan team has been gelling so well together. We have plenty to look forward to in 2016. The support from the parents and relations is always appreciated and once again they were rewarded with impressive Camogie skills.
Lucan Sarsfields 6 â 5 Faughs 4 - 3
Robbies Team: This was a great game to watch and enjoy. Plenty to talk about here, Tara Hollowed putting in her shift as a goalkeeper and showing that the wall practice works great for her puc-outs, then switching to midfield to show her battle skills. Forwards of fury were Aisling Behan and Kate OâConnell, half forward line of Lilly Rooney with tenacity, followed by some cool goalkeeping and Sophie McIntyre with the weave and Faughs were struggling. The game continued to provide early thrills for the forward line to build an imposing lead with plenty of goals and the ever improving midfield with Aoibheann Scott and Lydia McEneaney battling for possession, Faughs struggled to get hold of the sliotar for long periods with Lucan just bombarding the goal, and then a change of position for Hanna Gibbs and the team strength just got more powerful. With our new improving players of Hanna Nolan, Rachel, Rebecca and Sophie all putting in timely tackles and endless running.
While Lucan were cruising for most of the game, up pops two Faughs players for the future with three goals to Faughs in the last few minutes of the second half, the final whistle blew and we knew that we had witnessed something special.
Best of the match was Sophie McIntyre scoring a point with three Faughs players on her tail.
Lucan Sarsfields 4 â 6 Faughs 0 - 3
Ollies Team: While Robbies team were facing a fit Faughs, Ollies team started the game in full flight. Leah Dunne steady and accurate, Cliodhna NiBhuachalla, Sinead Daly, Cara Ware taking early control of the midfield, the supply to Sarah Mahon, Ella Lacy, Rachael Fox, Alannah Fox was relentless, the scoreboard was busy, with the tempo high the accuracy was challenged, eventually the scores began to rack up. Faughs were missing some key players but the Lucan team had such depth, Faughs were limited to long shots with no way through the Lucan defence of Saidbh Fitzpatrick, Ann-Rose Kenny, Isobelle Dunne, amazing Aideen Somers, Reah Canning, Erica Collins put a great spell in goal with her long-puc-outs.
Best of the day was Leah catching a puc-out and firing it back over for a point, straight off the training ground.
A big thanks to the Lucan players who played for Faughs (short 4 players) with such passion.
