U11 (2004) Hurlers

September Sundays were made for hurling and Sars U11s enjoyed their morning in the sunshine before heading up the Family Fun Day.  If only the parents and mentors performed like the players; well maybe the tug of war trophy might have been won!!

First up was a home fixture against Thomas Davis.  Information to hand was that it was a slow start as some of the Sars lads were seen partying away up in the club at the disco! And so both games were dominated in the second half with no need for disco lights as our players shot the lights out scoring some excellent goals and points.  Our defending wasn’t half bad also in keeping Thomas Davis at bay for long periods.  Excellent start to the morning.

Panel: Andrew Hill, Sam Donohoe, Ronan MacCraith, Alex Skeehan, Fionn Buckley, Niall Higgins, Jack Kelly, Roghan Withero, Ben O’Toole, Luke Trunk, Finn Tuohy, Alex Corrigan, Conor Hylands, Cathal Doody, Jack Behan, Adam Duffy, Joey McSweeney, Luca Kavanagh, David Mulqueen, Charlie Mulqueen, Rossa Daly.

Following up on the morning game was a midday clash with Raheny across in St. Anne’s Park.  Always a lovely place to play and Sars matched the venue with some excellent hurling.  Unlike the morning match, the first half was the order of the day here as in both games, Sars got out of the blocks quickest and scored some superb goals and points. Playing against the wind in the second half meant some defending which was very accomplished.
