Amy
Conroy and Niamh Byrne made welcome returns to the Lucan ranks for this
one-sided encounter against a shell-shocked St Brigids at Russell Park on a
gorgeous evening.
Byrne
slotted in effortlessly in defence - her sublime first-touch is un-affected.
Conroy â
operating as the lone striker - accounted for an astounding 5-8. However, it
was her passing to her in-rushing raiders which really caught the eye. She was
involved in almost every score on the night.
Ailbhe
Ryan had the freedom of the park in scoring 0-10 from half-forward. Good
striker.
Laura
OâMahony (3-3) and Laura Murtagh (1-4) have now formed a lethal partnership on
the right wing. They were far too skilful and quick for the home defence.
Sarah
Cotter is settling in nicely in mid-field and is a serious addition to the
squad.
Of
course, these totals wouldnât have been possible without an endless supply of
quality ball from the backs.
While the
defence had a fairly quiet night, bigger challenges lie ahead for them. They
rarely walk themselves into trouble and they pass the ball very cleverly. Not
even one free conceded all evening is an astounding statistic. #composure
Marisa
Britton made her debut at this level. She battled well in the corner and was
first to every ball. Delighted.
Looking
forward to next Tuesday 30th June at home to St Judes in the Summer Cup second
round.

Murtagh showed amazing reactions to catch the rebound and hand-pass to the net
before the keeper could react again.
