U16s take Victory over ManO'War in the D Shield final

On Saturday 23rd May the U16s travelled to ManO'War to play the D Shield final. A huge group of supporters travelled to lend their vocal support to the team.
The game started and Michael Doyle raised the green flag for the first score. This was followed by two points from frees the first from Killian Boylan and then Adam Stanford. Lucan were handed a penalty which was calmly placed by Killian Boylan who then completed the first half scoring with a point which left the halftime score at 2-03 to 0-00.
At the start of the 2nd half ManO'War enjoyed a period of dominance which resulted in them scoring a goal and a point. Lucan secured the next score with a point from Michael Doyle, then ManO'War responded in kind by getting the next point. Killian Boylan scored another goal but ManO'War went up the pitch to cancel out this score with a goal of their own. After a few near misses for ManO'War Lucan scored a couple of points through David Lynch to settle their nerves. Nathan Murray completed the scoring with a point near the end.

This was a victory born of great work rate, teamwork and commitment by the lads, parents and mentors.
