Hurling U16 Div 5 Kilmacud B v Lucan B May 12th

We set out to Kilmacud for an early throw in at 6.45 on the behest of the Kilmacud team to facilitate pitches. Kilmacud informed us they would have 15 players some of them would be from their 15 B team, which to honest was similar to what this Lucan team is made up of a 4 from the 15a and 3 from 15b with the balance of the 17 players made up of the correct age group. First half was a very even affair Kilmacud had both hill and wind advantage and they made good use of it taking an early lead. Lucan fought well and with 8 mins to go where a goal ahead scores coming from David Millar 1 goal, Thomas Heffernan 1 goal and Cillian Murray 3 points, Shaun Keegan 1 point and Micahel Doyle 2 points. At half time Kilmacud went into the lead with a goal up. It was a great first half from both teams and Lucan where ready to return in the second half with the wind in their sales and gut instinct to win.

When the second half began Kilmacud all of sudden had 7 players on their line and a totally new team on the field. Their 16 A team where meant to be playing but the other team did not show up. Lucan with the advantage of the hill and wind found it hard to hold back this new onslaught from Kilmacud only managing to score 2 points in this half while Kilmacud hammered home 5 goals and 2 points. Disappointment all round at the end, they tried hard to hold them back,but the players that where on for the second half where to strong. 

We have a great bunch of honest players and to be defeated like this was somewhat of a let down. Not to be outdone by this, we will return stronger again by the time the summer is out.
