Camogie U11 Match report.


On a perfect afternoon for camogie the Lucan girls put in a fantastic display against Cuala in Meadowview.

Robbie's Team

Right from the off the girls were quicker to the ball, stronger in the tackle and accurate for scores. In the first match Cara and Sophie led from the front with Hannah and Kate dominating around the middle and Saidhb strong at the back, where the girls led from start to finish.
In the second match the three A's of Aoibheann, Alanna and Aideen were superb all over the pitch ably supported by Ella up front and by a tremendous rearguard performance by Cathy in her first game for the U-11's. This match was also a clear victory leaving everyone going home happy with the afternoons performances.

Gary's Team

We had a great start to the day with the relentless pressure applied by Tara and Sinead in the midfield, it wasn't long before Tara had the ball in the back of the net with a fine strike of the sliotair. the game continued with a similar vein and Erica and Sarah proved to be quick on the mark to close out some great scores and a great win. We had some gutsy displays in the second half from AnnaRose, Hanna, Rachael, Cathy and Kelly providing some real hope for the future as some of these players are from the u10's team. Great improvement is a pleasure to watch and with Katie, Baithnaid and Aisling putting in some great skilful Camogie. For the second game we did everything but score, and Cuala rallied to score a couple of late goals to secure the win. All in this U11 team is cooking up some great performances and with room to improve means we have a great future. 

Overall this was a great display by the girls where all the skills being practiced on the training field came to the fore with crisp ground hurling and accurate striking from the hand a notable feature of the games.
