U16B Hurling Lucan Sarsfields B 4-14 V Na Fianna B 2-4

This victory has been a long time coming, but when it finally arrived it was sweet. Lucan started off well with a very early goal from a tap in from Joseph Lakes, Joe followed this up shortly after with a point. Na Fianna fought bravely for most of the half but, Lucan continued on the up, scores coming from Cillian Murray, Osin O’Brien,Oran Tully and Michael Doyle. Ryan Hyland was in excellent form in goal, with the back line again very solid of Zach Meade, Thomas Heffernan and James Hoey.

Lucan went into the second half 2-8 to 1-2. Second half saw Na Fianna pressing more on the Lucan defence with the wind at their backs, but the half back line was working hard, with Eoghan Higgins, Aidan Flynn and Paul Murtagh coming to the fore. Scores in this half came from Shaun Keegan, Cillian, Joe and Michael. Na Fianna had a number of shots wide in this half which didn’t help their cause. A great win from Lucan and a super performance from all. Joe Lakes normally in the half back line, but playing midfield today finishing with a tally of 2-4 man of the match performance.
