U15B Camogie Match Report 15/03/2015
Lucan Sarsfields (10-5) V Bray Emmets (0-1)
This week Lucan U15âs faced opposition from the seaside town of Bray in the shape of Bray Emmets.
Within a few minutes of the throw-in, Lucan were on the score sheet following good work by OâConnor (Chloe) and Boland at midfield with the ball ending up with the industrious Delmar who duly deposited the ball to the net - a sign of things to come.
The Lucan girls got amongst their opposition with both OâConnors, Boland coming to the fore, winning first ball and repelling the opposition threat. Movement and quick distribution of ball put Lucan on the front foot throughout the game. Half-forwards, Brady; Delmar and Feighery were constantly on the move and exerted their dominance on the Bray half-backs. Forwards Crosbie and McGrath linked up well with Crosbie picking off a well earned hat-trick. OâConnor added a goal and Brady pointed to finish off the first half scoring.
Bray fought well and ventured into the Lucan half on many occasions only to be repelled by OâConnor (Danielle) and Morris at half-back and Fox; Kenny and Byrne at full-back. OâReilly in goal made a couple of fine stops to install a sense of calm in the Lucan back line. Bray eventually got on the score board with a long range free. Lucan replied with an OâConnor (goal) and Brady point to finish off the first half. Half time score Lucan 5-1 Bray Emmets 0-1
The second half started with a bang with OâConnor (Chloe) picking off a quick point to be followed by the score of the game. From the puck-out Crosbie now operating around the half-way line, fielded the high ball magnificently, quickly picking out Boland who in turn found Delmar who duly pointed. At this stage positional changes saw Morris and Fox move to full-forward line resulting in both getting on the scoreboard. The bray backline were put under severe pressure with Ennis; Feighery and Morris causing panic under the high ball.
Credit to the Bray girls who kept going to the end with a couple of late attacks only to be cut out by Cuffe and Kenny who looked calm throughout. Overall, this was a great team performance with no less than eight players getting on the score sheet. All players displayed an appetite for work and to be involved in the thick of things - great stuff all round.
Final score-line Lucan 10-5 Bray Emmets 0-1.
