Healthy Club
Our healthy club committee are facilitating another safeTALK (Suicide Alertness for Everyone), on Saturday 22nd June. Please see the link below to register. We would encourage all mentors and parents to participate in this very important workshop. Any questions please contact Audrey @ 087 2312560.
AIM: safeTALK is a 3½ hour ‘suicide alertness’ programme that prepares participants (over the age of 18 yrs.) to identify and engage with persons who may be having thoughts of suicide. Participants learn how to provide practical help by using the steps of TALK (Tell, Ask, Listen and Keep safe) and gain information on the supports and resources available locally, regionally and nationally. These specific skills are called suicide alertness and are taught with the expectation that the persons learning them will use them to help reduce suicide risk in their community.

Hurling
Our Lucan Junior B hurlers made the short trip across the Liffey to St. Catherine's Park on Monday night for their latest league match. Despite missing seven regulars due to a combination of holidays and injuries this was more like a training match. From the time Ross Campion hit the back of the next within the first minute it was one way traffic. Scores came from all over the pitch, but it was the manner of those scores that was pleasing. Great teamwork, support play, tackling and striking was the feature. While the forwards kept the scoreboard in overdrive, there were also solid defensive performances. Stand-in keeper Tiernan Swords didn't put a foot wrong, Dylan Ryan, Joey McSweeney, Alan Flanagan, Kian Quinn and Conor Mulqueen and Conor Sheary until he went off injured did not give their opponents a sniff of a score. Finan Breen and Cillian Morrisey bossed the middle of the pitch. Up front, the forwards took their chances with aplomb.
We now have two matches left in the league so automatic promotion is in our own hands.
Lucan team & scorers: T. Swords, C. Sheary, A. Flanagan, R. Dillon, J.McSweeney, K. Quinn, C. Mulqueen, F. Breen,( 0-1) C. Morrisey, A. Duffy ( 0-6), A.Whyte( 0-2), DB. Murphy (0-2), S.Teehan( 0-3), N.Higgins ( 2-2), R. Campion( 2-6), E.Power (2-0), J. Muiilins (0-1) .
