Lucan Sarsfield’s Club Notes 

Notice 

Lucan Sarsfields has recently moved from Club Force to ClubZap. Going forward it can be used for club communications, to pay and renew membership and to play the lotto. It will also provide our members with both match fixtures and results. We encourage all our members to download ClubZap.  

Football  

As we start the new adult football season, we still have some vacancies in the management teams for next year’s adult and minor teams. We will field five adult teams and three minor teams in the coming season. We are particularly seeking a management team for the Junior A Footballers. Anyone interested or know anyone who might be interested in being involved in any capacity with any of these teams please contact Gerry McAndrew (085 1744627) or David Herlihy (087 3416702) in the coming days. This could be a very rewarding experience and great craic.  

Juvenile  

Our 2016 Boys had their first training session as U8’s after finishing in the Academy. It was great to see them out and see smiles all around, despite the weather. Best of luck to the boys and their management and we hope they have many happy years ahead representing the club. 

Our U12 Boys were sporting their new jersey's last weekend in football matches against Thomas Davis and Maynooth, as well as a hurling games against our near neighbours Celbridge. A huge thank you to Unique Roofing, Centra Griffeen and Feargal McCarthy for their generous sponsorship, ensuring that the teams will look the part representing the club in the months and years ahead! 

Academy 

Our Academy is on every Saturday morning from 9-11am and provides a great opportunity to get involved in Gaelic, Hurling and Camogie. It is open to children born in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020. Training times are age dependent, please contact our club Games Promotion Officer, Alan O’Neill - 0871213587  

We are delighted to announce a new joint sponsorship for our Academy. Our current sponsors Lucan District Credit Union will be joined by ABC Gym, forming the LDCU-ABC Academy. A huge thank you for both of your generosity and sponsorship. 

Social 

Our Annual Awards Night will take place on Saturday the 24th of February at 8pm in the clubhouse. We look forward to seeing you all there. 

The Cúpla Focal Club started on Monday the 15th of January from 8-9pm and will continue every Monday. This is a great opportunity to learn Irish. All welcome. 

Healthy Club  

We are taking part in the Irish Life ‘Every Step Counts’ Challenge again this year. We encourage all our members to signup via the Irish life app. This is a great opportunity to exercise and with the change of winning some money for the club. 

From Wednesday the 17th of January at 7:30pm we will be doing ‘Ireland Lights up’ for 6 weeks. This is an initiative with Operation Transformation to get groups of people to walk and talk in a safe environment during the dark winter evenings. We hope to see you all there every Wednesday. 

Lotto 

No Winner of last week’s lotto jackpot of €3,400.

This week’s Lotto will be for a jackpot of €3,800. The draw is sponsored by O’Gradys Hearing Care Service and will be led by Séamus Clandillon.
