Team News
AFL1 Lucan Sarsfields 2-15 St. Maurs 1-14
Despite playing with 14 men for the majority of the game Lucan got back to winning ways in AFL1. Jack Carey got an early goal in the opening minutes in the 12th lock with a brilliant finish past the St Maurs keeper.
Excellent performances from Colm Walsh and Henry Keogh gave Lucan a platform to go and win the game in the second half with both contributing to the scoreboard. Brendan Gallagher and Mark Lavin also raised the white flag meaning Lucan ran out winners by 5 points.
Coaching with Martin Fogarty
There was a great turnout for the Martin Fogarty Expert Coaching session which took place last week. This was the first such event organised by the coaching working group. It was an engaging and thought-provoking session, Martin also took time to answer the questions which had been raised in advance, as well as taking questions on the night. Feedback collected from attendees has been extremely positive.
A special word of thanks to Martin for giving his time to share his knowledge and experience. Thanks also to the Under 17 hurlers who participated in the evening. And not forgetting our videographer for recording the session, this will be made available in due course. Watch out for further sessions being planned for the coming months!
Junior C Camogie
A great performance on the senior pitch by Lucan Sarsfields C Team as they had a great battle from start to finish against St Marks and came out on top by 3-8 to 2-3, stellar performance by the backs with midfield keeping the ball moving and winning 50/50 tussles while the forwards sought to capitalize on possession and they converted the majority of their chances into points and goals, the sponsor of the new kit, Deirdre Maher of Tour America was on hand to give the girls their new set of jerseys before throw in. The Ladies would like to thank Tour America and Deidre for their support.
Intermediate Camogie
The intermediate team captured the league with an emphatic win against St Vincent’s last week.
The team won all their matches to top the table and claim the title, at different stages during the league a total of 33 players lined out, our thanks to Donal Colfer and Frank Fleming who released players from their Junior panel to supplement our numbers. Best of luck to the girls who will now take a well-earned break to sit their Leaving Cert before all attention switches to championship later in the Summer.

U8 LGF
Sunday mornings mean only 1 thing for our U8 girls football team- game time!
The girls presented in force and once again the call for availability did not disappoint with 35+ girls making themselves available for our away game against Na Fianna. The girls are now used to the pre-match ritual of warm ups and team talks and by all means following direction from mentors on the line because across all games attention to detail could be seen with the girls determined to play to the rules of the game by only taking four steps before solo/bounce, hand passing to free players, calling for kick outs and competing for high balls in midfield. Great to see the girls determined to win possession and encouraging one another both on and off the field of play and respecting the opposition with clean play. Well done and we go again next week for camogie.
U10 Lucan Vs St Judes
Great show from the boys last Saturday -v- St Judes. They got into an early rhythm today with early scores from Odhran Donohue, Adam Murphy and Stephen Radomski. St Judes started to claw their way back into the game but we closed the first half well. The second half was a tougher affair, with tempers fraying at one stage, but the lads continued to play some very neat football, with midfield of James Cunningham, Jeff Berry and Stephen putting in a serious shift. Quick thinking from Oisin Doyle nabbed us a late goal, while an outstanding one-handed save from Scott Kinsella down the other end denied Judes a certain goal. Matthew Caroll was immense in defence for both halves. Special thanks to John Colfer for marshalling the lads today. Very proud of the boys effort and skills.
These lads put on a great show of the skills they have been developing at Training. Terrific tackling, constant pressure, nice passing and some great scores. It was a very competitive game overall against St Judes. Well done lads!
A true team performance from these guys this morning. Straight from the throw in, defending from the front they gave St Judes no time on the ball. They found their eye for goal early on with Eamonn Lott bagging a hat trick. Resolute defending from James Lynch, Conor Biggs, and Rhys Henvey aided by great distribution by Thomas Scanlon meant they went in at half time with a deserved lead. St. Judes showed they were up for the battle and came back into the game in the 2nd half but with Eoin Ryan and Luke Whelan's though tackling and Charlie Walsh's tireless running who covered every blade of grass they ran out deserved winners and can be very proud of the fully committed performance.
U11 LGF
On Saturday our U11 ladies football teams played at home to Fingallians. Once again AGP 1 was packed with over 70 girls all working hard and playing some super football. Thanks from both teams this week goes to our four Lucan referees, Aisling, Saoirse, Cliodhna and Roisin, who were fantastic. They took time to speak with some mentors before the match and during the match explained to the girls why they blew the whistle and to give them advice and encouragement, creating a lovely atmosphere on the dayThe team topped the table and claimed the title after winning all their 6 League matches, during the campaign 24 players participated and each player contributed to the success.
