Lucan hurlers enjoyed a good double win over Craobh Chiarán at a sun drenched 12th Lock this lovely Sunday morning.

AHL1 Lucan Sarsfields 0-17 Craobh Chiarân 0-14. 12th Lock, 27/3/2022

Lucan seniors came out the right side of this hard fought contest. Lucan led from the start but never pulled clear of a dogged Craobh side. Lucan got the first 3 scores and were 0-6 to 0-1 up inside 15mins. However Craobh finished the half stronger and reduced the deficit to two by half time, 0-9 to 0-7. Lucan started the second period well also and stretched the lead out to four again but Craobh refused to give in. Lucan finished the game with 14men after Donal Flannery picked up two yellows, but they held firm to deservedly win by three in the end.

Lucan team/scorers: S McClelland, E Seery, P Rigney, P Claffey, A Murphy, J McCaffrey, R Stapleton, R Ward (0-1), C McHugh (0-2), K Fitzgerald, C O’Leary (0-4, 0-3f), C Walsh (0-2), E Dowling (0-4), D Flannery (0-1), C Keher (0-2). Subs introduced C Keenan, E O’Conghaile (0-1).

AHL5 Lucan Sarsfields 3-26 Craobh Chiarán 0-8. 12th Lock, 27/3/2022

Lucan Junior A’s continued their good start to the league with this very comfortable win over Craobh Chiarán. The early stages were closely contested and the visitors led 0-3 to 0-1 after 5 minutes. However, Lucan gradually started to get on top and a red card for a Craobh mid-fielder after just 10 minutes turned it into a very one sided affair. Lucan took some good scores from distance and a Sean Harkness goal helped them to 1-16 to 0-5 lead at half time. The second half continued to be largely one way traffic and Paddy Ward added two more goals for Lucan. The pace of the game became fairly pedestrian as both sides accepted the inevitable outcome well before the end.

Lucan team/scorers: D O’Neill, A Sheahan, R Twomey, T Beahan, C Duffy, A McNulty, G Millea, D Kavanagh (0-1), I Crowley, N Stagg (0-3), E Allen (0-8, 0-2f), E Lombard (0-2), S Harkness (1-5, 0-4f), C Keane (0-5, 0-2f), P Ward (2-1). Subs introduced: J McCarthy, A Carroll (0-1), K Masterson, D Reynolds, C O’Maolmhána.

Jun C Hurling, Lucan Sarsfields 3-10 Skerries Harps 2-14, AGP3 27/3/2022

Lucan welcomed Skerries Harps to AGP3 on Sunday afternoon. Despite Eoin Power and Finan Breen getting two early goals for Lucan, we actually had the poorer start and though welcome, the scores were slightly against the run of play. The second goal tied up the game at 1-3 to 2-0. Skerries kept the pressure on and scored another 1-1 but luckily Cathal Doody performed excellently in goals and made some crucial stops to keep us in the game. As the half wore on, Lucan came more to the fore and added five scores to lead 2-5 to 2-4 at the interval.

Skerries again started well and added four scores with a Shaun Keegan converted free, our only reply. Power netted again to restore our lead but this was quickly cancelled out. A long range Doody free was added to an Eoin Higgins point to retake the lead. Skerries got one back before two Shaun Keegan frees pushed the lead out to three. Skerries rallied and added four points to snatch the lead. Lucan kept battling but were unable to convert and went down by the minimum on a scoreline of 3-10 to 2-14. Skerries gave a great display of fielding throughout the game. Lucan contributed well to the contest and were unlucky to get no return from the game.

Team and scorers: C Doody (0-1f); D Hassey, C O'Neill; P Farrell, T Swords, S Stapleton; L O'Connor, E Higgins (0-1); C O'Brien (0-1), R Hearne (0-1), S Keegan (0-4: 0-3f); E Power (2-0), F Breen (1-2); L Farrell, C Ryan, J Brant, E Hollowed; A Flanagan, S Egan, C Chambers, R Hazley, R Brant.

Leinster Senior League v O’Moore’s Camogie (Laois)

Lucan Senior Camogie continued their winning ways at 12th Lock on Friday evening with a win against O’Moore’s of Laois. Lucan got off to a great start and looked likely to cruise to an easy win but O’Moore’s settled down and really pushed the Lucan girls to the limit. Lucan lead by a score line of 1-7 to 1-2 at half-time with both sides having failed to register several scoring chances. 1-6 of the Lucan scores came from play, which was pleasing. The O’Moore’s girls came at Lucan hard in the second half and managed to reduce the difference to just 2 points at one stage, but Lucan dug deep and kept the scoreboard ticking along to eventually leave the result at 2-13 to 2-7. That’s four wins out of four in the Group and a guaranteed semi-final back in Lucan on the weekend of 2nd/3rdApril. The opposition has yet to be determined.

Scorers: Jessie McClelland 1-4, Orla Beagan 1-2, Phoebe Shannon 0-3 (2 frees), Orla Sadlier 0-2, Faye Murphy 0-1, Anna Breen 0-1.

The U11 ladies football group traveled to Na Fianna's Collinstown pitch on the old airport Rd on Saturday morning. The noise of the aeroplanes didn't distract the girls and they played some great football. Their passing , defending and teamwork has improved so much in the last few weeks. As always it is great to see so many girls having fun and enjoying the game. Well done to all the girls involved

What a fabulous day to announce the commencement of the 2022 go game season. From the get go it was clear Lucan meant business as not even the time changes could hold back our determined crew. Parents had taken heed of the request for players to be in attendance 20 minutes ahead of throw in. Players were present and in preparation mode with ample time to spare demonstrating to opponents that we meant business
