As you know we have made the club’s facilities available to the HSE for Covid19 testing. That facility is now fully operational, processing about 140 tests per day. This is a drive thru only facility, affording the maximum protection to the clinical staff and it is operated by appointment only. We would ask members not to approach the facility as its operations are not a spectator sport.

Many thanks to all those that have helped and offered to help, if more volunteers are required I will shout loud. Many thanks also for the messages of support we have received.

Many members may be living alone or in degrees of isolation. One of the best tonics for this is regular conversations. Amongst our social initiative, Seaghan O’Lanagáin is leading the way by proactively making a number of phone calls each day and encouraging others to do the same. I would ask you all to join in this and make regular phone and/or video calls to fellow players, mentors, friends, parents etc.

We are aware that many members will have lost their jobs in recent times and many more may do so. If this results in difficulty with memberships, etc., please drop a note to our registrar at lucan.sarsfields.registrar@gmail.com.

If you require assistance, we have members with any and every skill, from plumbers to electricians and beyond. If you require any help please don’t hesitate to contact any one of the club’s executive listed below.

We are using this time, where our own pitches are not in use, to do some maintenance work. Last weekend lots of grass was cut and next weekend we plan to fertilise Pitch 1, quickly followed by seeding once we can get equipment onto the pitches.

I understand that younger members may be climbing the walls with boredom, and it is difficult. Amongst the many creative challenges available online, our own GPO David Moran has his contribution which is worth a look.
