The Annual primary schools ladies football competition took place on Thursday 6th June, when eight of the local schools played in a blitz style competition held on the All Weather and Juvenile pitches.

Two of the schools, Scoil Mhuire GNS and Gaelscoil Naomh Pádraig entered two teams, and there were two groups of five as the action got underway just after 6:30pm.

Group 1 was topped by Scoil Aine Naofa, with 4 wins over Scoil Mhuire GNS2, Gaelscoil Naomh Padraig1, Divine Mercy SNS and Griffeen Educate Together.

Group 2 saw Lucan Educate Together NS also progressed to the final with 4 wins over Scoil Mhuire GNS1, Gaelscoil Eiscear Riada, Scoil Mhuire Woodview, and Galescoil Naomh Padraig2

The final was a close affair won by Scoil Aine Naofa, 1-02 to 0-03.

Congratulations to all the girls who took part, thanks to the teachers and to the Lucan Sarsfields LF mentors who stepped in to take teams. Thanks to all the club members who assisted with the setting up of pitches and running the blitz. Thanks, and well done also to our referees: Abby Sheils, Ellie Larkin, Bella Fay, Aisling Kavanagh and William Eakins, they interacted brilliantly with the teams
