Lucan Sarsfields GAA Club are very proud of Johnny, and we want acknowledge his remarkable inter-county career, he has been a shining light for the club over those remarkable ten years. He was our GPO for a number of years and had so much time for the children of the club and inspired so many across the club and continues to do so. As Dublin captain, he lifted three Leinster titles (Minor, U21, Senior) the most historic in 2013 when he captained the Dublin Senior Hurling to the title after a 52 year gap. Bringing the Cup back to Lucan Sarsfields was a marvellous occasion for us and will always be remembered.

While his inter county career is coming to an end, he continues to be a great asset to our club, and we hope he enjoys more success with us. He continues to bring so much to the club not just on the hurling field but all across the club, helping with juvenile teams training, offering support and guidance to coaches and sometimes even playing some football!
