10/7/2018 AHL Div. 5. Lucan Sarsfields (1.11) 3.16 Na Fianna (0.7) 1.14. 2th Lock.

On an ideal evening for hurling, Lucan opened with a pointed free from Garry Coleman who followed up with an great goal after a good fetch from a long delivery on eight minutes. Na Fianna replied with three pointed frees before Emmet Allen, Cathal Ó Maolmhána and Eoghan Ó Conghaile, scored three fine points from play. Eoghan and Emmet were making lots of room in the half forwards where Alan O'Neill was getting though a huge amount of work, Joey Byrne was mopping up in the half backs, ably assisted by Tiernan Swords and Diarmuid Reynolds in the full backline. Eoghan O'Connor at right corner back had an impressive game. Fintan Clandillon, in goals, played solidly with a point blank deflection save to prevent Na Fianna from scoring a goal. All but one of Na Fianna's scores came from frees in the first half. Emmet, Eoghan and Oisín O'Brien, finished the half with three fine points, while in form Garry, got another three, two from frees.

In the second half, Cathal, Eoin Kenny and Emmet opened with three points from play as Na Fianna came back into the game scoring 1.4 (2F). Eoin Kenny and Eoghan Ó Conghaile scored well worked decisive goals in the 20/21 minute to help Lucan pull away. Emmet Allen got two points (1F) to finish Lucan's scoring while Na Fianna got three late points from play as they strove to catch up. A very deserving result for a hard working Lucan team. Good to see hard working Andrew Duff, John Byrne and William Swaine back in the fray. Well done to the young players who slotted in so well with the more experienced players.

Team: Fintan Clandillon; Eoghan O'Connor ( Eoin Higgins), Tiernan Swords, Diarmuid Reynolds; Seán Kelly, Joey Byrne, Tadhg Clandillon; Eoghan Ó Conghaile, Eoghan Reynolds; Peter Fagan (Andrew Duff), Alan O'Neill, Emmet Allen; Cathal Ó Maolmhána (John Byrne), Garry Coleman (William Swaine), Oisín O'Brien (Eoin Kenny).
