He is also an associate member of the UKSCA and he is hoping to commence a PhD in 2018.

Ken is currently S&C athletic development coach to Dublin Senior Ladies Football and previously with the Dublin Senior Hurlers, Ballymun Kickhams (winning Dublin senior championship and Leinster championship and reaching the All Ireland Final).
He has coached at underage levels with Lucan Sarsfields and DCU where he has had several All Ireland successes at college level.
And at other sports as a conditioning coach include Glennane hockey 1995-2004, along with individuals in International athletics, Netball, league of Ireland soccer, National super league Basketball and a Ryder cup Golfer.He is now about to commence coaching Lucan Minor ladies football for the next two years.

We asked Ken what advice he would have for girls just starting to play Ladies Football, and for their mentors:

Ken’s philosophy is built on three pillars for players;

Hard work through athleticism

Fast moving play through skills

A fun and enjoyable environment – development of players

Movement, mobility and mechanics can be achieved even at a young age through everyday games, skipping, hopscotch and sports such as gymnastics or athletics.
Skills can also be developed by being comfortable with the football and coaches should develop players to be left and right sided.
If you develop players to be over dominant on one side you have half coached them is his opinion.
Playing sport must be fun and creating an environment where players esteem, skills and camaraderie can be developed is the ideal scenario to strive for.
All players in a squad must be developed to create a culture of selfless teamwork where hard working skilful players play for and with each other.

Thanks Ken!
