Lucan Sarsfields Club Notes Monday 10th April
April 10, 2017
Féile continues with Footballers in action last weekend. The A’s were playing in Division 3 and despite being level with Naomg Olaf the score difference prevented them from progressing to the semi final. Lucan played host to one group in Division 7. The Lucan side lost to Naomh Olaf but overcame both Cuala and Templeogue to progress as runners up. This meant a trip to Erin Go Bragh to meet a resilient Geraldines team who put a stop to Lucan's progress. A special thanks to Denis Conheady (Lucan Co-ordinator) and all people who helped out ensuring fantastic hospitality, and fantastic weather!
Senior Camogie had a great Leinster League quarter final win over St Martins from Kilkenny. Their reward is a semi-final against Oulart The Ballagh.
Senior Football championship is their next game against UCD in Monastery Rd on 21/4.

**************
Comprehensive League wins for both Junior hurling teams this weekend - match reports below. Senior's league game v Setanta is on Thursday night (13th) at 12th Lock. Best of luck to all the Lucan contingent involved with Dublin Minors who play opening Leinster Championship game v Laois next Saturday 15th at 3pm.
AHL4: Lucan 6-11 Oliver Plunketts ER 0-13.
Junior A's put in a dominant second half performance to capture the points at sunny Martin Savage Park. Lucan started well and had two early goals but allowed Plunketts back into it and the sides were level at half time 2-3 to 0-9. A brace of goals early in the second half had Lucan on top again and this time there was no way back for Plunketts. Lucan's defence was solid throughout and the goal was never really threatened. Johnny Byrne was busy in midfield and Eoin Kenny helped himself to 3 goals in the full forward line, where Gar Coleman also showed well when introduced. Lucan scorers: E Kenny 3-0, G Coleman 1-2, C O'Maolmhana 1-1, K Brennan 1-0, T Sommers 0-4 (0-3f), P Brennan, D Brennan, J Byrne, R Lambert 0-1 each.
AHL8: Lucan 2-11 Ballinteer SJ 0-7.
Our Junior B's made it 2 wins from 3 in league, with a good performance against BSJ at the 12th Lock on Friday evening. The experience of Ger Twohig and Darragh Reidy and the young legs of Adam Finnerty and Darragh Ryan combined well to give Lucan dominance around the centre and a goal in each half from Mark Quaid and the accuracy of Keith Masterson made it tell on the scoreboard. Lucan's full back line of S Stapleton, A Flanagan and S Farrell, backed by B Fagan in goal, were very solid at the other end. Lucan scorers; M Quaid 2-0, K Masterson 0-6 (0-4f), D Ryan 0-3, D Reidy 0-2.
