Happy St. Patricks Day!!

 

Congrats to Laura Quinn and Katie Wisdom, both of whom were on the scoresheet for the Dublin U16 home win over Meath last weekend and to Mia Dunne selected for Dublin U14 away to Kildare.


Dublin Feile 2017 Draw was made this week, The U14 Ladies Football A team are in a group with Clontarf, FoxCab and Kilmacud Crokes, while the B team are in with Garristown and Skerries Harps. Feile gets under way on the weekend of 1/2 April.  Fundraising events continuing in the club this week. All support greatly appreciated, and many thanks to all who have supported recent events. 

Don’t forget to come to the St Patrick’s Day Barbecue, in the clubhouse on the afternoon/evening of St Patrick’s day.


Trinity College Dublin opened a new GAA Pitch at the Santry Avenue venue and some of our U10 Girls and Boys, pictured below with Dublin Manager, Jim Gavin, joined in with around 500 others from 25 Dublin Clubs to help with the celebrations by playing some exhibition games.

 

The Girls Nursery is taking a break this Saturday 18th, and is back on the following Saturday Morning from 9:30 to 11:00, all girls born in 2010, 2011 and 2012 are very welcome


Ladies Football Committee Meeting 8th March

  • The U-12 mentors down to Nursery still need to decide on what to do with their €400 from the Lidl cheque. William will contact the relevant mentors and try to reach agreement.
  • We have confirmation of almost all mentor contact details. Please contact lucansarsfieldsladiespro@gmail.com to update your details if you have not already done so.
  • Most player registrations are complete for 2017. It is up to each mentor to ensure that all of their players are registered, as failure will result in points being deducted. Please contact Billy or Triona if in any doubt.
  • Feile Preparation is still ongoing. There are a number of fundraisers on over the coming weeks, so if all teams could push these with their own teams.
  • Billy and Triona gave an update on the first G4Teens course held last Saturday week. They will provide a further update after they have met as a group to discuss preparations for running events to support this.
  • Molly O'Toole's family have given permission to run a secondary school tournament in her memory. More details to follow soon
  • Update provided on the current work going on with regard to mentor support, including training at the clubhouse.
  • Therre are currently slots available for Referees, Fundamentals and Level 1 Coaching courses, please click Development on the DLGFA website, http://www.dublinladiesgaelic.ie.
  • The move from Willsbrook pitch up to AGP0 (behind Weston Hockey) is due to happen over the next few months. With a new cycle lane being put in to Willsbrook, the existing pitch is now narrower, and may not be big enough for the older games.
  • All teams need to start preparing for the summer training schedule, please email lucansarsfieldsladiespro@gmail.com with the following info: Agegroup / Day / Pitch / Time as we try to secure your preferred training slot.
  • The nursery have put a plan in place for integration from 2017 to 2018. David Moran is also providing support. Triona is also look for some of her equipment which went 'missing' recently.
  • It was agreed that future meetings would be held on the 1st Wednesday of every month.

5 March U14 Division 6S v BBSE, Final Lucan Sarsfields B, 5-14, Ballyboden St Endas C, 2-1. 

Our 2nd league game was a close 1st half with only 3 points in it. However the Lucan girls pulled away in the second half back by a strong defence which helped the forwards to put up a good score. Tight first half, but excellent score taking and great defensive work in the second half saw Lucan to a good win

12 March U14 Division 6S v Croi Ro Naofa , Final Score Croi Ro Naofa 9-6, Lucan Sarsfields, 5-12

12 March U9 played challenge games in Celbridge against 2 Celbridge teams and 1 Maynooth team. We fielded 32 players and all of the Girls played well and had a great time. All are looking forward to the start of their first Go-Games match for this year on Sunday, April 2nd
