Lucan Sarsfields Club Notes Monday 23rd January

Leopardstown Leaps was a huge success, thanks to the organisers, we had over 200 people enjoy a great days racing with lots of those returning to the club on Sunday evening.
On the games front most teams have now started back training with significant pressure on our winter training facilities. Anyone not using their assigned slots on the all weather pitch please let the games secretary know so it can be reallocated.
Games will shortly start appearing on the schedule with challenge matches already scheduled for next weekend.
"Donate A Dress” takes place on Friday 3rd February at 8 o clock up in the clubhouse. We are still looking for donations of dresses, tops, jackets, coats & bags in good condition please. Donations can be dropped up any night of the week after 7.30 to the bar or they can be collected by Tracey Walsh (087-9735665) or Jackie Quinn (087-9385595). Tickets are also on sale for the night, they are €5 and include a glass of wine on presentation of your ticket. Spot prizes , raffle, nail bar available on the night. Tickets can be purchased at the bar or from the above contacts."
LastManStanding: Fancy yourself to forecast weekly results in the Premier League? Then our LastManStanding competition is for you! Simply pick a different Premier League club team to win its game each week, see off all other contenders until you are the LastManStanding, then collect a cool €500. This is a fund-raiser for Senior Hurling, starting on Saturday, February 11th. Entry fee is a once-off payment of €10. The club are looking to fill a new role of Health & Wellbeing Officer to raise awareness of health issues that affect all members of the Club such as men’s health; women’s health; cancer awareness; blood pressure awareness; drug awareness; dealing with stress; healthy eating; weight control; the dangers of drugs and alcohol; cardiac screening and stopping smoking. Every year the club holds a Volunteers Night. This year it’s on Saturday 28/1. Its open to all who give of their time in any aspect of running the club, Mentors, Disco Supervisors, Bar Volunteers etc. It’s always a legendary night!
Our Adult awards night is on Saturday the 4th of February.
"Lucan Masters" is a social / non competitive GAA football team that plays on Thursday evenings (9:30pm) on the all weather Pitch at Lucan Sarsfields. They are always looking for new players. No previous experience is required. Its a fun and social way to keep fit and get exercise. It is open to all Club members, coaches, parents and spectators alike.

25 Card Drive returns to the club on Friday next 6/1 and the Cupla Focal Club returns on Monday the 9/1.
The Set Dancing also returns on Wednesday next at 8:30pm in the function room.
Bingo is also back on Wednesday evenings 8:30pm in the club bar.
Club Shop is back open. Times are Sat 10:30-12:30 Thr 7pm-8:30pm.
A fundraising Table Quiz for the Club will be held on Friday, 27th January, at 8.30pm in the Club. Enjoy a good evening's entertainment for €20 for a table of four. What is the name of the Restaurant in Weston Airport? What is the new name for The Deadman's Inn? Come along and broaden your knowledge for a good cause!
Lucan District Credit Union Academy. Saturday 9.30am for Camogie and Girls Football, 10am for Boys Football and Hurling, for boys and girls born in 20010, 2011 and 2012 – 12th Lock.
There was no winner of the €1,000 lotto where the numbers were 4, 15, 22 and 28. The sponsor was Henley Forklift Group and next weeks €1,500 draw will be managed by Team Josephine Donoghue. Tickets can be purchased online, at the club, in Carey’s Newsagents or in Vesey Arms or Kenny’s Bar.
