Lucan Sarsfields Club Notes Monday 16th January 2016

Ladies Football are holding an open meeting at the club Tuesday evening 9pm. Similar to those help so far for Hurling and Camogie, this meeting is to discuss current and future development of Ladies Football in line with the clubs strategic plan. Mentors,Parents, Adult Players and all connected with Ladies Football are invited.


“Donate-A-Dress” 3rd February. After the success of the last event, we are running another Donate a Dress fundraiser for the Adult Ladies Football section. Come along on the night with friends, enjoy a glass of wine and pick up a few bargains!! If you would like to donate dresses, coats, shoes or bags (in good condition!) for the event, they can be dropped to the club house on Tuesday 13th or Thursday 15th December between 7pm - 9pm, with further dates to be added later. 


Every year the club holds a Volunteers Night. This year it’s on Saturday 28/1. Its open to all who give of their time in any aspect of running the club, Mentors, Disco Supervisors, Bar Volunteers etc. It’s always a legendary night!


Our Adult awards night is on Saturday the 4th of February.


Senior Camogie have a new management team led by Dave Keenan assisted by Vincent Teehan , Seaghan O’Lanaghain, Jackie Flanagan and Michael Moylan. We wish them every success in the coming season.


"Lucan Masters" is a social / non competitive GAA football team that plays on Thursday evenings (9:30pm) on the all weather Pitch at Lucan Sarsfields. They are always looking for new players.  No previous experience is required. Its a fun and social way to keep fit and get exercise. It is open to all Club members, coaches, parents and spectators alike.

25 Card Drive returns to the club on Friday next 6/1 and the Cupla Focal Club returns on Monday the 9/1. 


The Set Dancing also returns on Wednesday next at 8:30pm in the function room.


Bingo is also back on Wednesday evenings 8:30pm in the club bar.


Leopardstown Leaps is on Sunday next 22nd January. Tables of 10 for €1,000 or individual tickets are €100 each.  This includes admission to the racecourse, race card, four course gourmet lunch including wine, professional tipster, and a great day's jumps racing!  A roaring success last year, a superb day was had by all who attended, and it was the talk of the club for weeks after.  All proceeds from the race day going towards the club's development.  Prosecco reception in clubhouse beforehand to get you in the mood, with complimentary buses to/from the racecourse.  A great way for your company to entertain clients or else get your friends together at a table for a special day out and for what promises to be another social event to remember.  Contact Eoin Dunne (086 273 4114), Jim Mulqueen (086 238 7585), Joe Lavin or Ciaran Dunne to book your place now.


A fundraising Table Quiz for the Club will be held on Friday, 27th January, at 8.30pm in the Club. Enjoy a good evening's entertainment for €20 for a table of four. What is the name of the Restaurant in Weston Airport?   What is the new name for The Deadman's Inn? Come along and broaden your knowledge for a good cause!


Lucan District Credit Union Academy. Saturday 9.30am for Camogie and Girls Football, 10am for Boys Football and Hurling, for boys and girls born in 20010, 2011 and 2012 – 12th Lock.


Congratulations to Peter Hickey of Woodview,  winner of the €19,500 lotto where the numbers were 3, 6, 9 and 23. The sponsor was Colaiste Laichtin Inis Oirr and next weeks €1,000 draw will be managed by Team Edel Moonet. Tickets can be purchased online, at the club, in Carey’s Newsagents or in Vesey Arms or Kenny’s Bar.
