Lucan Sarsfields Club Notes Monday 9th January 2016

January 09, 2017

Drones and more Drones appeared over Lucan Sarsfields and around the Canal on Saturday morning. No it was not the set of a new Chariots of Fire remake! Just RTE’s Operation Transformation. Several hundred turned out for the initial 5k walk on Saturday hosted by South Dublin County Council in association with Lucan Sarsfields GAA Club.

"Lucan Masters" is a social / non competitive GAA football team that plays on Thursday evenings (9:30pm) on the all weather Pitch at Lucan Sarsfields.
They are always looking for new players.  No previous experience is required. Its a fun and social way to keep fit and get exercise.
It is open to all Club members, coaches, parents and spectators alike.
If interested in participating, please contact Ian O'Connor at ianoconnor22@gmail.com or  086-3801740.

Training Activity is gradually returning with more and more activity on the all weather pitch every night.

The Annual Awards Night is on Saturday the 4th of February.

The Volunteers Night will be on Saturday the 28th of January.

Following its spectacular launch last year, the 2017 Lucan Sarsfields Race Day at Leopardstown Racecourse is taking place again on Sunday 22nd January.  Tables of 10 for €1,000 or individual tickets are €100 each.  This includes admission to the racecourse, race card, four course gourmet lunch including wine, professional tipster, and a great day's jumps racing!  A roaring success last year, a superb day was had by all who attended, and it was the talk of the club for weeks after.  All proceeds from the race day going towards the club's development.  Prosecco reception in clubhouse beforehand to get you in the mood, with complimentary buses to/from the racecourse.  A great way for your company to entertain clients or else get your friends together at a table for a special day out and for what promises to be another social event to remember.  Contact Eoin Dunne (086 273 4114), Jim Mulqueen (086 238 7585), Joe Lavin or Ciaran Dunne to book your place now.

Congrats to our new InterCounty representatives. Last weekend Brendan and Conor Gallagher played with Leitrim, Sean Newcombe played for Dublin.

25 Card Drive returns to the club on Friday next 6/1 and the Cupla Focal Club returns on Monday the 9/1.

The Set Dancing also returns on Wednesday next at 8:30pm in the function room.

A fundraising Table Quiz for the Club will be held on Friday, 27th January, at 8.30pm in the Club. Enjoy a good evening's entertainment for €20 for a table of four. What is the name of the Restaurant in Weston Airport?   What is the new name for The Deadman's Inn?

Come along and broaden your knowledge for a good cause!
