Lucan Sarsfields Club Notes Monday 5th of December 2016

December 04, 2016

It’s Christmas Draw time. Tickets should already be with teams, if not the team allocation is available at the club, as are extra tickets. This years draw has a €2,000 first prize and we need maximum support. It would be really helpful if sold tickets were returned early, please don’t wait until the last minute. Draw takes place on Thursday 22nd of December.

Plans are being finalised for events on St Stephens day, details to follow, but we hope to match last year.

Congratulations to the Intermediate footballers who won their regelation playoff against Craobg Chiarain Wednesday. The 1:15 to 1:09 victory secures their division 4 status for 2017.

U21 Footballers were away to Ballymun in Championship where they lost by a point, while the B footballers are away to Round Towers Lusk and had no better luck.

Thanks to the large attendance at last weeks Hurling meeting. Due to the level of active contribution, it was a very successful event. The feedback will help shape future plans for adult hurling within the club.

Among the many roles the club is seeking to fill is that of Director of Camogie. Any expressions of interest please contact any member of the club executive.

On the juvenile side awards evenings are dominating the schedule. Sunday last was the turn of the very successful U15 Footballers. Captain Jake Rooney got the coveted Players award, Alex Hanley the most improved player while mentors somewhat fudged the player of the year award giving it instead to the team as a whole.

South Dublin County Council wishes to advise all Clubs that last games before Christmas are scheduled to take place weekend of 17th/18th December 2016. Pitches will re-open weekend of 14th/15th January 2017.
