Lucan Sarsfields Club Notes Monday 29th August 2016
August 28, 2016
Next Saturday is âCentra Family Fun Dayâ. The day starts at 1pm and runs to 5pm. Loads of activities, BBQ, Books, DVDâs Bottlestall and lots more. Denzel The Magician, a Cake sale, and Music by DJ Callum. Centra promise a showcase, this promises to be a fun filled day.
Senior Hurling lost to Crumlin on Saturday evening, that loss coupled with how some other games finished means that Lucan are playing in Division 2 next season. Junior B Hurlers also lost out in their quarter final championship encounter with Clontarf.
Following on their win over St Brenadanâs, Junior Footballers have a Championship Final on Sunday next (4/9), OâTool Park, 10:30am where they meet St Vincents, We are asking for lots of support. No doubt Paul McGann will have a free bar on offer back at the club (It could be Butlers or Buttons depending on the result).
Senior Footballers have just two games remaining in AFL1, away to St Maurs 6pm 3/9, home to St Sylvesters 17:30 on 17/9. A few points required to avoid playoff.
On the Juvenile it seems there are dozens of games every weekend. Some examples are U15 Football, who had a massive win over Castleknock to give them a great chance of topping their league. U14 & U15 Ladies Football also had great Championship wins over the weekend. Thanks to everyone providing photos of Lucan jerseys worn worldwide, keep them coming.
Given Kerryâs (and Galway, Dublin, Mayo) presence in the All Ireland Football finals, demand for tickets is expected to be high, so get you name in early. List will be posted in the bar in the next few days.
Club House rejuvenation is continuing, the Pizzas are going well so if you don't head to Croke Park to watch a game, the clubhouse is the place to be.
Lucan Sarsfields Golf Society next outing is Donabate GC Saturday 10th September and our Captains (Liam Carton) Day is in Luttrellstown GC on Saturday 1st October.
Bingo continues every Wednesday evening at 8:30pm with free tea/coffee.
The Club Shop will open 2-4pm on Saturday next as part of the Centra Family Fun Day after which normal opening hours will apply.
There was no winner of this weeks â¬9,500 lotto draw, numbers were 3, 6, 8 and 15. Next draw will take place on Sunday night with the jackpot now at â¬10,000. Last weeks draw was sponsored by Newcastle Golf Centre. Next weeks draw will be managed by team Edel Mooney.
While we are on the lotto, We are appealing to Club members, who have their own businesses, to support our weekly Lotto sponsorship. We have 12 slots to fill for the upcoming year 2016/2017. Rates are â¬50 for one week, â¬90 for two weeks, â¬150 for four weeks and â¬200 for six weeks. Our sponsors to date are very pleased with the extensive promotion they have got over the years.
