Itâs that time of year where inter county activity seems to dominate the GAA news, and Lucan Sarsfields players do play their part.
Dublin Minor Hurlers wee crowned Leinster Champions on Sunday after a win over Wexford. Lucan represented on that field by Ciaran Dowling and also on the extended panel by four first year minors Ben Coffey, Robert Ward, Luke Walsh, Emmet Allen. Clearly Lucan are the core of next years team.
Dublin Senior Camogie suffered recent defeats to Kilkenny and Tipperary in the All Ireland Championship. Lucan represented by Ali Twomey, Orla Began, Kate Whyte, Claire Rigney and Emma Flanagan.
Dublin Senior Hurlers brough their Championship to an end with a loss to Cork. Lucan reps Jonny McCaffrey and Chris Crummy.
Dublin U21 Hurlers face Offaly in the Leinster Final on 6th July in OâConnor Park, Tullamore. Lucanâs John Bellew flying the flag for the club.
Dublin Camogie Premier Junior team lost out to Limerick and next face Westmeath on 10/7. Lucan reps Emma OâFlynn, Michelle Kelly and Emer Keenan.
All we need now is representation at Senior Football and Ladies Football and it looks like that is just a matter of time.
Senior Footballers are back in action on Saturday next away to Fingal Ravens at 18:30. While one of the team, Tommy Brennan, togs out on Sunday next to tie the knot with fiancé Justine Boyce - and we really do wish them well.
Senior Camogie Cup final v Ballyboden on Tue 5/7 19:15 in Adamstown - All support appreciated.
Bingo is still running every Wednesday in the club bar 8:30pm. Free tea and coffee.
Summer Camps 2016 for ages 6-13 begin on the 4th July. Football 4-8th July, Hurling/Camogie 11-15th July, Football 8-12th August, Hurling/Camogie 15-19th August. Campus run 10am to 2:30pm.
