Lucan Sarsfields Club Notes Monday 30th May 2016

May 29, 2016

On Sunday last Lucan Celebrated 1916. It was a collaboration between Lucan Harriers, Lucan Gospel Choir, Westside Performers and Lucan Sarsfields. A true community event. It was a fantastic day and the weather helped. Events included historical talks, athletics events, juvenile GAA games, a senior football match dubbed as “The Battle of The Parishes” where St Mary’s lost out to the rest of Lucan, Stage performances, and a flag raising ceremony. The reading of the Proclamation was done with such passion, it would have had every adult signing up on the spot!  Congratulations to all the volunteers and organisers. Thanks also to the Tainiste, local Mayor and council representative for their support.

Senior footballers having been successful against St Judes, lost out on their latest league game against Thomas Davis (but Alan and Jonny ensured all the footballs were retrieved!). Junior footballers enjoyed a good win over Fingallians on Sunday morning.

Senior Hurlers are out against O’Tooles on Thursday night 7:15pm at home on the Senior Pitch. All support much appreciated.

Juvenile games are getting stronger year on year. Wins for U15A, 14B, !3 A and B Camogie, in Hurling 14A and B, 13B, and 16A. In football 14A and 14B. 13B Ladies Football also winning.

Bingo continues its popularity, its running every Wednesday in the club bar 8:30pm. Set Dancing is on Wednesday at 8:30pm in the Function Room.

Next up for the Golf Society is the Annual Classic in Lucan Golf Club Friday 17th June. This is a key fundraiser for the club so all support welcome. To book a tee time please contact Seamus Fagan 086 8168984.
