On Thursday last, the Clubs new strategic plan was launched. The document has since been downloaded over 300 times, mainly in locally but also from 12 other countries some as far away as Australia. Centerer on “The Power of Five”, the plan provides the club with a roadmap to grow and develop. The five areas of focus are Games & Games Development, Club Structure and Club Culture, Finance and Fundraising, Communications and Facilities and Development. The plan is informed by a huge member survey conducted last year and in launching the document, Club Chairman Declan O’Leary said the plan was “devised by our members for our members” and sees the club as “the pulse of the community”.

Senior Hurlers continue on their Leinster League journey following a 1:15 to 1:13 win over Carrickshock of Kilkenny.

Senior Footballers fell four points short in their Division 1 clash with Ballymun which ended 4:12 to 4:16. Intermediate Footballers chalked up their first win of the season v St Finians at the weekend.

Senior Camogie overcame BBSE 3-4 to 3-12 while in the Senior 6 League Cup Lucan got the better of Finians. 

On the juvenile side it is beginning to get very busy with hurling for CCC2 this weekend U14A, 15A and 15B coming out on top. On the Ladies Football impressive wins for U13, 14 and 16, while Camogie 13A, !4AB, 15AB all getting the better of this weeks opposition.

Easter Camps (7-11yrs) running from March 29th-31st, and School of Excellence (12-14yrs) from 21st-24th March are announced and entry is available on the website or via any team mentor.

Last weeks Bingo got quiet exciting with several players waiting on a single number for the Jackpot, one did get lucky. Next bingo is on 23/3.

On Wednesday night next we have an “Oiche Gaelach”, a night to celebrate your Irish culture with music and song. In addition, Joe Byrne will present the Club’s annual Presidents Prize.

The ever popular Cúpla Focal Club continues on Monday night. Eight O’Clock for the novices, nine for the more experienced speakers.

St Patricks Day is always a big day in Lucan and this year is no different. We have free busses going from the boys school to the club after the parade and we have lots of entertainment, a magic show, music, a disco, food and lots more.

The 25-Card Drive continues on Friday Night at 9pm, new participants are always welcome.

There was no winner of this week’s €2,500 Lotto draw, numbers were 8, 12, 14 and 15. Lotto sponsor was Diamond and Gem Jewellers. Next week’s jackpot is €3,000, and the draw will be managed by team Hugh McGonigle Sunday night.
