Lucan Sarsfields Club Notes Monday 24th July   23/07/2017

For the second week running, Junior Footballers dominate the headlines by winning the Stacy Cup 1:14 to 1:09 over St Vincent’s. The Junior B’s could not maintain the winning momentum in the O’Broin Cup final, loosing out to Naomh Olaf 1:06 to 2:14 (as the Red Arrows flew by, or maybe it was Fitzy and friends).

The Car Draw will take place on the night of the 26th August when Aslan play at Lucan Sarsfields. Tickets for Aslan are available online form, while tickets for the car draw are available at the club.

Ladies Football continue their championship run with a win over O’Tooles. Now its knockout with Naomh Barrog on Wednesday 7:30pm away in Pairc Barrog.

Senior Hurlers were at home on Saturday evening last in a league fixture against Naomh Olaf. Lucan finally seemed to wake up to the prospect of missing out on the promotion playoff and played some class hurling winning 6:17 to 1:13.

Last week there was no winner of the €7,400 lotto and the numbers were 2, 5, 13 and 26. This weeks €7,800 draw will be managed by Team Hugh McGonigle and is sponsored by REA MCDonald Auctioneers. Tickets can be purchased online, at the club, in Carey’s Newsagents or in Vesey Arms or Kenny’s Bar.

The club bar will be closed on Monday, Tuesday and Friday nights until the end of August. Other days remain un affected. If anyone requires the bar or function room for any event just contact bar staff on Thursday night.

Golf Society’s latest outing was in Tulfarris Golf Club where the overall winner was Dave Whittle (17) 37pts BB6, 2nd Overall: Billy Hayes (20) 37pts BB9, Winner Category 1: Stephen Murphy (14) 36pts, Winner Category 2: John Clancy (19) 37pts

Winner Category 3: Brian Mahon (23) 26pts BB9. The next outing is in Grange Castle Golf Club on Friday 18th August.   


The annual Family Fun day originally scheduled for Saturday 1st July has now been moved to later in the Summer.

Bingo continues on Wednesday 8:00pm in the club bar.

Club Shop is closed for its summer break. Items can still be purchased online or in O’Neil shop on the Long Mile Road.

Lucan District Credit Union Academy are also on their summer break.
